The Process

Unlike buying mass-manufactured furniture from a catalog or on display at
a local showroom, the decision to buy custom furniture is a decision to engage
in a process that can be exciting and, ultimately, very rewarding.
- Step 1- The Idea: Maybe you’d like to …organize and make
better use of space in a child’s room with a combination bunkbed/desk…replace
that old dining room table that seems to be the neighborhood standard with an
eye-catching unique piece…fill the niche in the family room with an
entertainment center able to house the big-screen TV and library of movies and
music….rejuvenate the master bedroom with an updated look…make the kitchen the
crowning jewel of your home with custom cabinetry designed around the way you
live? Whatever your idea or need, we are happy to work with you and/or your
designer to make it happen.
- Step 2 – Initial Consultation: At our first meeting, in
your home or office, we will discuss your idea and how best to achieve it.
This will likely involve a discussion of the species of wood desired, hardware,
type of finish, style and the precise needs you are trying to meet with the
piece. We’ll also take some preliminary measurements at this time.
- Step 3 – Preliminary Sketch Design and Quote: Based on the
initial consultation, we will draw up one or more preliminary sketches of the
desired piece, along with a specification sheet detailing choices of materials
and a preliminary quote. Then, at a time convenient for you, we will meet
again to discuss these items and any desired revisions. If everything is a
“go” at this point, we’ll take final measurements and move on to Step 4.
- Step 4 – Final Design and Quote: Based on the input
provided at our second meeting, we will prepare a final detailed design,
specification sheet with materials and finish selections, and quote. This
quote is final, unless any changes are subsequently made to the design,
materials, hardware or finish selections. With your signature on the design
and spec sheet, and 50% down payment, we will put your project on the schedule
and provide a final delivery date. From that point on, we know that time
matters, you’re counting on the delivery date we provided, and we do our best
to stick to it!
- Step 5 – Material Selection and Build: Please see “The
Prestige Commitment to Quality Products and Service.” You are welcome to call
anytime to check on the status of your project or make an appointment to visit
the shop.
- Step 6 – Delivery/Installation: Delivery and, if
applicable, installation will occur on the day(s) scheduled in advance with
you. Just let us know if any adjustments to that schedule are required. We
leave your home or office area clean, with no construction waste. Final
payment is requested upon delivery and/or installation.
- Step 7 – Enjoy Your Prestige Custom Furniture Piece: And, ask
about rewards for referring your friends and family to us!
